Archive for January, 2008

And finally a update. Its been so long I’m actually having trouble deciding how and where to start, not to mention remembering exactly what I’ve done! I think instead of doing it diary style I’m going to have to give a general overview for what I’ve been doing. Probably I’ll release updates every two days or so. Keep a steady stream rather than the first post get buried by the many subsequent ones. Its been a busy few weeks (and by few weeks I mean two months…) I have to say. From our debut Yosakoi performance back at the end of November, my family visiting in December, Christmas festivities, and onto our holiday down in Tokyo. More generally winter is most definitely here come in full force now, and Toya is now buried in a thick layer of snow, something I doubt will change for many months to come. Throughout December the snow seemed to be quite cyclical, we’d get a big drop, then nothing for a few days so things would start to melt again. When we came back from Niseko on the 29th Toya was decidedly lacking in snow. But today looking out the window at the giant pile of snow where my garden used to be you’d think we were in the Arctic. It makes a nice change to have such clearly defined seasons. Summer was hot, autumn was colourful, and the winter has the snow. The whole area looks and feels so different. Fortunately I love the snow, feels like Christmas everyday. Damn cold though! Got down to about -9 last night. Which probably explains why the water in our pipes froze whilst we were away in Tokyo (and consequently our shower has exploded for lack of a better word) After all that talk of cold time to move on quite suitably to the first part of the giant January update, Snowboarding,
